This full silicone super realistic training shoulder is designed for first aid and military training to practice wound packing. This model is customisable to your specific needs.

It is a freestanding table model with embedded bloodlines that can be operated separately per wound or simultaneously by connecting the lines.

"We have used MedicFX trauma shoulder trainer to demonstrate the use of our medical metal detector GetMet in finding metal in the human body. The product helps highlight circumstances across crisis, AE and war use that are experienced in Ukraine, one of our primary markets, where our product is used to detect shrapnel and other foreign metals from the human body. Working with MedicFX has been a great experience! The FX team has a customer friendly approach and proven to be highly professional throughout our engagement." Leo Österback CEO of Ortotec Finland. Orthopaedic Surgeon.

This Shoulder model has 4 different wounds:

  • Shattered shoulder

  • Deep bullet wound around shoulder tip

  • Blast/shotgun wound, front of the chest wound

  • Large laceration to the upper arm

Bloodlines are embedded to be operated individually for each wound or simultaneously by connecting the lines. This model can be used for pre hospital wound care training.

This product includes:

  • Shoulder model with embedded bloodlines

  • Black storage bag

  • 4x Syringe 50ml

How to use this freestanding trauma model:

Stand the model on a smooth surface/table. It will sit upright or laterally without moving. Connect the bloodlines to your blood pump or syringe.

Apply pressure. If you wish to simulate a ‘sucking chest wound’, crush an alka seltzer tablet and sprinkle some of the powder in the sucking chest wound to create some bubbling. Use diluted fake blood for this wound. The large cut can partly be sutured with a round needle. (cutting needles will damage the edges. We recommend glucose free blood and adding a bit of liquid soap to the blood will prevent it from beading up on the silicone surface. Additional blood and bruising can be added to the model.

Care instructions:

  • The model can be washed with warm soapy water and disinfected with Iso Alcohol.

  • Rinse out the bloodline thoroughly.

  • Flush lines with Iso-alcohol to prevent mould

  • Make sure the model is thoroughly dried before storing.

  • As Silicone is an oil based product, it may become a little shiny over time. Wipe off any oily residue with Isopropyl Alcohol. You can use talcum powder and brush this over shiny areas.

  • Store away from direct sunlight.

  • If, in the most unlikely case, you need to repair the model, this can be done with a Silicone Repair kit.For more information on how to repair your silicone model, check out our instructional videos on YouTube: MEDICFX NZ
