MM830 - Realistic neck trainer
This silicone neck trainer simulates a post surgical thyroidectomy wound. This model can be used on a manikin or standard patient. Wrap the model around the neck of the patient and fasten at the back with the Velcro. Hide the bottom edges with pyjamas or surgical gown.
The cut is pre-made and the edges are reinforced and suturable. A hematoma can be added using a wide bore cannula and a syringe of blood clot/fake blood.
The top 3 layers, skin, membrane and muscles can be sutured with a smooth round suturing needle.
The model consists of 4 layers:
Skin layer
Underplaying membrane
Strap muscles
Inner layer with visible trachea

How to use this model:
The wounds in the membrane, muscle and skin layers should be sutured closed using a round bodied needle. Skin layer can also be stapled closed with skin staples. Wrap the neck model around the simulator's neck. To simulate a hematoma, use a 30ml syringe filled with thick fake blood or blood clot with a wide bore cannula attached. Push the cannula between the sutures/staples and inject until the wound has sufficiently swollen.
Fill a syringe/gravity set/blood pump with fake blood and connect to the bloodline.
The neck wound can be opened, cleaned out and sutured back together by the participant if they wish.
The model can be used multiple times.
Care instructions:
As Silicone is an oil-based product, it may become a little shiny over time. Wipe off any oily residue with Isopropyl Alcohol. Dry with a hairdryer.
You can use talc powder to mattify shiny areas.
The silicone can be washed with warm soapy water and disinfected with Iso Alcohol.
Make sure all blood is removed from the blood tubes and avoid the use of sweet syrup-based blood.
Store this product clean and dry in a dark and cool environment.

Disclosure and Warranty
MEDICFX guarantees that all products supplied will uphold high standards of quality and will adequately serve the purpose(s) as specified in their descriptions. In the unlikely event of a product being faulty or damaged upon receipt, the customer must notify MEDICFX within one week, including a photo of the damage as evidence. If it is determined that the fault or damage was due to manufacturing, MEDICFX commits to either repair, replace, or refund the faulty product according to the customer's preference.
MEDICFX provides a six-month warranty specifically for the silicone parts of your model. Under normal, gentle usage, no rips or tears should occur. Please note, however, that the hairwork on our models is not covered under this warranty.
